If you’re experiencing anxiety or trauma, know it can get better — especially with Valerie's help. She has attended specialized training for survivors of trauma. Valerie was honored to be a member of the mental health Mobile Crisis unit for the Des Moines Police Department and surrounding communities. She has additional education in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and hypnotherapy and will use these proven techniques to help you overcome your challenges and take back your life. Valerie’s passion of working with adult survivors of childhood trauma has led to her becoming trained specifically in the journey of healing and recovery.
Valerie earned a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Argosy University and holds a dual bachelor’s degree in anthropology and biology from Iowa State University. She is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists as well as a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC) and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCH) in the state of Iowa. She has worked in the forensic mental health field for five years. She is currently completing a PhD in Addictions. Valerie published her book PTSD and Trauma-Informed Hypnosis and Mindfulness Scripts in 2021. It remained the #1 new release in Educational Counseling for five days.
