Samantha's therapy philosophy is to give each individual ownership of their therapy process while providing a safe, caring environment in which to support, challenge, and provide feedback to those seeking to overcome life's hurdles. The therapeutic approaches she uses are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Personal Centered Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Her passion in therapy is to help people overcome the past, build skills and confidence in the present and learn to live a brighter future.
Samantha is a graduate of Liberty University with a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a minor in Christian Counseling and Women's Issues. She has also received specialized training in EMDR, a therapy modality designed to treat trauma. She uses this type of therapy as a guide to form a road map to the relational hurts that individuals have experienced and believes it can be especially helpful in providing the ability to find freedom and take back their lives to trauma survivors. She is continuing her education in this area to become an EMDRIA certified therapist. She has experience using this type of therapy with women and adolescents in addictions, codependency, and domestic violence/abuse recovery.
