Making the decision to come to therapy is not an easy one. Hilary is here to help by providing a safe, compassionate, and judgement free space. Hilary has spent her career advocating for children and their families from all walks of life. Helping children and families overcome trauma and heal together, is Hilary’s passion. Which is why she has obtained additional training in ways to help individuals process their trauma. Another group of people Hilary is passionate about serving is the LGBTQIA community. As a member, she has an understanding of the struggles this community experiences, and has a passion to help these individuals overcome life’s obstacles and find their sense of self.
Hilary earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master’s Degree from Walden University in Mental Health Counseling. She has additional training in EMDR, a type of therapy used to treat trauma. She is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has additional training in play therapy and sand tray therapy. Hilary has been working for 9 years with kids and their families who have been impacted by trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, behavioral concerns, attachment issues, and those who have dealt with the child welfare system, foster care, and adoption.
