No matter how “put together” we are, we all get a little stuck sometimes. Life happens, and we might need someone to talk to. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, discontent, anxious, depressed, lonely, or are grieving, having relational issues, or just feel like you need to process the day-to-day, I am so glad you are here.
My friends and colleagues have described me as warm, approachable, down-to-earth, funny, eclectic, wise, and compassionate. My greatest reward as a therapist is helping clients explore ways to create positive changes and healing in their lives. I strive to instill hope in my clients and empower them to meet their own goals.
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples. I am passionate about working with clients to treat concerns related to depression, anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, self-esteem, grief, trauma, anger, stress, family conflicts, relationship issues, infidelity, and life transitions. I have completed Gottman Level 1 training. I also work with modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, marriage and family therapy, internal family systems, motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, emotionally focused therapy, experiential therapy, narrative therapy, and trauma-focused CBT. I also enjoy utilizing art as a means of expression.
I received a BA in Ministerial Studies from Christian Life College and an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northeastern Illinois University in 2013. Originally from Iowa, I began my career as a therapist in the Chicago area, where I lived for 12 years. Several years ago, I relocated back to my home state and have loved everything that the Greater Des Moines area has to offer. In my free time, you can find me cooking, baking, watching sports, painting, hanging with my family and friends, and most recently – attempting to learn to golf.
