Kelsi believes that everyone is worthy of being able to share their story in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. She feels privileged to be a part of someone's journey to understanding their past, being aware of the present and setting goals for their future. The therapeutic approaches that she utilizes include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Structural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Experiential Therapy.
Kelsi attended Iowa State for her undergraduate degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services with a minor in psychology. She received her Master’s degree in Applied Family and Child Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northern Illinois University. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, she utilizes systemic thinking, which is looking beyond an individual and observing how their surrounding environments/relationships are impacting them. She finds this approach to be highly effective in therapy, as changing a person’s surroundings allows for greater individual growth.
